Quinnipiac women’s basketball defeated Monmouth Friday afternoon 82-61 in a MAAC Tournament quarterfinal. Gillian “Boo” Abshire paced the Bobcats with 16 points and eight assists. Abshire now ranks first on the all-time assists list with 686. Her counterpart Jasmine Martin tallied 16 points including a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line.
With the win, Quinnipiac improves its record to 29-3 and advances to the MAAC semifinals for the second consecutive season. It will face the No. 5 seed Siena Saints on Sunday at 11 a.m. for a spot in the championship game.
