The Quinnipiac University men’s ice hockey team gained another forward in Kevin Duane, a transfer from Boston University.

The New Canaan, Connecticut native played in four regular season games in the 2014-15 season, registering no points. In the 2013-14 term, he scored six goals and 10 points in 33 games. Prior to his two years as a Terrier, he split time between the USHL and EJHL. In the first half, he scored 12 points for Waterloo. Upon joining the Boston Jr. Bruins, he put up 25 points in 28 games.

Duane brings a size to an overwhelmingly small Bobcats team. At 6’5″ and 218 pounds, he stands as the largest player on the team. The size garnered a call to attend the New York Rangers development camp in the summer of 2014, but Duane was never drafted.

The Boston Jr. Bruins calls him a player that “combines his size with a soft pair of hands and is very smart with the puck and knows how to find teammates in open space. He also has a scorers touch and is great around the net.”

While the NCAA routinely redshirts transferring student-athletes Jeff Cox reported that Quinnipiac will appeal in an attempt to get him in for the 2014-15 season.

Quinnipiac and Boston University are set to play each other early in the 2015-16 season in Hamden, and again in 2016-17 at Agganis Arena in Boston.
