Quinnipiac students get tricked by Facebook hoax

Quinnipiac+students+get+tricked+by+Facebook+hoax

Steph Morelle went around the Carl Hansen Student Center to see who was up to date on their Facebook news. Just last week two separate Facebook statuses were spreading around the web. Many newsfeeds were flooded with the “copy and paste” style status.

Although there were two separate statuses both had the same idea. They said that Facebook was updating its privacy settings. In order to avoid the $5.99 fee to protect all personal information users had to copy and paste the status. If users did not share the status, Facebook would be allowed to use information or pictures without user consent.

Of course we have seen this all before but Morelle was able to trick a few students into believing it was real. When they were informed about what Facebook was allegedly planning on doing it was clear it was not a fan favorite. However after many upset reactions they were told that this was all a joke and the statuses were a hoax after all.
