It is the end of October, which means so many shows have been released over the last month. Here are five shows that you should add to your need-to-watch list. Some of these shows I myself have started to watch, others are on my list to start as soon as I finish the others.
1.“Nobody Wants This”
“Nobody Wants This” is currently number one on Netflix’s TV Show list. The show is in its second season, and it is about how an agnostic podcaster and a newly single rabbi meet and get into a relationship despite their different beliefs.
While I haven’t watched the show, it is definitely up there on my watch list. This is especially because it is a show that interludes a Jewish identity with a love dynamic that you may not see every day. I find it very interesting and that aspect of the show in my understanding makes it one that I really want to watch once I finish some of the other series I am watching currently.
2.“9-1-1: Nashville”
Earlier this month, ABC released a spin-off show to one of its popular series, “9-1-1.” The show has a very similar concept and plot line to that of the main “9-1-1” show, just taking place in Nashville, following some firefighters, 911 operators, and other first responders.
This show currently has three episodes, with the fourth releasing on Thursday, October 30. The Show can be watched live on ABC and later streamed on Hulu. Oh, and did I mention Jessica Capshaw from Grey’s Anatomy is in it? So, of course I am watching it, and you should too!
3.“BOOTS”
Another show on the Netflix trending list is a show called “BOOTS” which follows a young gay man named Cameron Cope who followed his friend Ray into the US Marine Corps looking for a change in his life, thinking it would be just like summer camp. Little did he know.
The show takes place in the 90s when the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law was in place in the United States, so Cameron learns quickly to hide who he is so he doesn’t get caught. Currently, I am on episode four of eight, and I have to say the show is an amazing must-watch show.
4.“High Potential”
While season two of “High Potential” started back in September, the season will conclude with episode seven on October 28th, and I had to include it on this list because it is one of my favorite shows on ABC.
The show follows a single mom named Morgan, who, with great problem-solving skills, accidentally joins the police department, helping them solve crimes. I love this show because it takes a working class single mom with three kids and the skills she has learned from being a parent and her husband going missing to help the LAPD solve crimes. The show can be watched on ABC and streamed on both Hulu and Disney+.
5.“Abbott Elementary”
Abbott Elementary, an ABC show, premiered its 5th season on October 1st. This season will have 22 episodes available to watch on ABC and stream later on Hulu. The show at the time of writing this article has four episodes released with the fifth releasing on October 29th.
For those that don’t know, the show follows a team of teachers who work in an Elementary School in the middle of Philadelphia and their somewhat unique work environment in a mockumentary style show.
