Over a hundred pieces of student art lined the walls of the Center for Communications and Engineering school for the design showcase hosted by Quinnipiac University’s chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA).

The showcase was not limited to design students, everyone was welcome to submit and the organization got a total of 113 submissions which was a record for them.

Corey Windham, senior graphic and interactive design major and one of the co-presidents of the AIGA, spoke about what he hopes students will get out of the experience.

“I hope students get out how creative other students are, not just in design major but there’s rarely a chance on campus where you could see the work of students not just in the graphic design program, so just people can see how talented their peers are,” Windham said.

The student work displayed throughout CCE was a variety categories such as digital art, photography, studio art, typography and motion graphics.

Students that attended the event participated in a vote to select their favorite piece for each design category, and everyone who voted was entered into a raffle to win prizes.

Ariana Laneri, senior graphic and interactive design major and the AIGA co-president spoke about the openness of the event and organization.

“This is open to every single Quinnipiac student here on campus; graduate or undergraduate. We have work from biology majors and graphic design majors. You can really be involved no matter what. As long as you have a creative thing to show then we would love to showcase it,” Laneri said.

The AIGA chapter is open to all students who are interested in design work.
