Best Buddies hosted their annual Spread the Word to End the Word event on Monday, March 5th in the Mount Carmel Auditorium. Best Buddies aims to end the use of the r-word “retard(ed).” The campaign asks people to pledge to stop saying the r-word as a starting point toward creating more accepting attitudes and communities for all people. Best Buddies is an organization that creates one to one friendships for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Members and their buddies expressed their love for the organization and how it impacts their lives.
