Yet another set-up episode, Season 6 episode 4, overshadowed by a crazy ending left Game Of Thrones fans wondering what Khaleesi can’t do.
Daenerys Targaryen
For 58 minutes, Game of Thrones fans sat waiting for something to happen. It has become the norm for every episode to have something outrageous happen because that is what the show has given us the previous five seasons. On that 58th minute, Daenerys showed us why she is the Khaleesi, the Mother of Dragons. She stood up to the Dothraki and let them have a piece of her mind, before burning them to the ground. She just stood there as she set fire to the hut she was in and watched the leaders burn alive. It was a truly epic scene. She emerged from the flames, unharmed, and the rest of the Dothraki bowed down to her. Another group of people amazed by her powers.
Jon Snow’s Revival
First, how great was it to see the Starks finally reunited? After everything they’ve all been through, finally two of them met up. At least she didn’t get there earlier in the season.
After last week’s episode, everyone fully expected Jon Snow to go on a revenge tour. He killed the members of the Nights Watch and said his watch was over. He didn’t. We saw Jon Snow in a way that hasn’t been displayed so far throughout the series. He was timid and didn’t want to fight. When Sansa Stark, his half sister, arrived at Castle Black, she wanted him to help her take back their home Winterfell. Instead, he was hesitant. He said he had been fighting the entire time he was with the Nights Watch and didn’t want to fight anymore.
It wasn’t until Jon and Sansa received a letter from Ramsey Snow, Warden of the North, threatening to kill Sansa’s brother and Jon’s half brother that Jon finally woke up. They decided they needed to take action and get help from the Wildlings, but even then, they’re outnumbered. No one knows how the battles will end, but the Jon Snow-Ramsey Bolton battle will be one for the ages.
High Sparrow
If we can be honest for a second, if the Mountain walked over to the High Sparrow with 10 of the other King’s guards and tried to rescue Queen Margery, they would probably be able to do it. He would march right over there, smash people’s head into walls, get her back, and then they would have to deal with the repercussions. There would be a civil war if that happened, but at least Margery would be back. King Tommen hasn’t done anything since his Queen has been captured, and enough is enough already. As much as everyone hated Joffery, he would have never stood for this. Tommen needs to get his Queen back.
Set-up episode
This was another set-up episode in which nothing really happened until the end. We saw a little bit of Little Finger who hasn’t been featured a lot this season. Theon went back to his sister, who was very reluctant to take him back. He broke down crying in front of her, but it looks like she will accept him back as her brother. Lastly, we saw Tyrion try to make peace in Meereen, much to the displeasure of the citizens of Meereen. Game Of Thrones fans want action, and although you can’t get that every episode, we were held without it this episode.
Predictions
Now that the Dothraki will follow Khaleesi, she will use them to help restore order in Meereen before she continues her quest to “break the wheel.” As for Jon Snow and Sansa Stark, they will try to gather as many wildlings as they can and head back for Winterfell. Lastly, the Tyrell army will come to help the Lannisters fight the High Sparrows army. They’re going to be some great battles in the upcoming episodes.
