Julia Schnarr and Audrey Scafati interviewed Dr. Oscar Guerra, an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, researcher and educator in celebration of Latinx Heritage Month. He discusses the importance of storytelling and the passion behind his PBS documentary “Love, Life and the Virus.”

Guerra talks about how he feels inclined to tell the stories of immigrants and what it means to be human. He shares the responsibility of people in the media spotlight and how teaching his students plays into that significance in society. Some of his pieces of advice included telling stories that hit close to home, being open to constructive criticism and working with people that you respect.
