Hamden, Conn. – Flo Rida has officially been announced as the 2024 Wake The Giant headliner. The Quinnipiac Student Programming Board (SPB) officially announced the news on Wednesday, March 27, with the concert slated for Sunday, April 14, at M&T Bank Arena.
Flo Rida is one of the most recognizable names in hip-hop, rap and pop, with numerous well-known hits from the 2000s and 2010s. The Grammy-nominated artist had his breakthrough moment with 2007’s “Low”, which was No. 1 in the US for 10 weeks and has been certified Diamond by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), selling over 10 million copies.
Hailing from Miami, Florida, Tamar “Flo Rida” Dillard is known for chart-topping hits and infectious beats with iconic lyrics that are still beloved today. Other notable No. 1 hits include “Right Round” featuring Ke$ha and “Whistle”. Some other iconic songs include “Club Can’t Handle Me,” “Wild Ones” featuring Sia, “I Don’t Like It, I Love It” with Robin Thicke and “My House”.
Flo Rida has been a cultural icon for years, also guest featuring on songs like “Where Them Girls At” with David Guetta and Nicki Minaj, “Troublemaker” with Olly Murs and “Hangover” with Taio Cruz. His music is still rabidly popular with younger generations today, who grew up listening to hits like “Low” on the radio and making songs like “Whistle” trend on TikTok last autumn.
