Last weekend the Student Programming Board had Quinnipiac students participating in a game show style event called “Text Wars.” Comedians Ryan Reiss and Jimmy Failla hosted the show and asked trivia questions. Students then texted their answers in for a chance to win money. Depending on the question students won $1 or $20. There were also two rounds where students had to compete with their best pick-up lines and in a dance-off for the prize money.
SPB’s Programming Academy put on the event. This committee is made up of general board members who seek the opportunity to program an event start to finish with the supervision of Vice President Erica Cianciosi.
“This event was something different and unique from what we have done this semester and I think the students that attended this event really enjoyed being a part of it,” said Cianciosi.
This was the second time that Ryan Reiss has been to the Quinnipiac campus this year. He performed his own stand-up act here last September. He is the stand-up opener for Late Night with Seth Meyers.
