This past weekend, approximately fifty people attended the Black Student Union’s fashion show. BSU President Aliya Clark coordinated the event. The organization puts on the fashion show every year. This has been a tradition for ten years.
This year’s show had a Seven Deadly Sins theme featuring exclusive fashions by Antonio Harper, the event’s fashion stylist.
The event was scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. in Burt Kahn Court, but it began at about 8:30 p.m. Even with the delay, smiles and cheers swept the room when the models strutted down the runway. The fashion show featured both men and women from various grades.
When asked about the fashion show freshman Paige McKnight said, “I think having male models and female models are important so you can diversify the show.”
Food, refreshments, and a photo booth were open to the audience during intermission and small breaks. This allowed them to eat, socialize, and have their own fun. Afterwards, the hosts invited some audience members to participate in mini-contests for a chance to win prizes such as a Google android tablet and Boaz headphones.

Hosts Danielle Radeke and Zach Rich, kept the audience interested with short background stories and quick jokes to break the ice.
DJ FANON X mixed different urban hip hop songs to portray the different moods of the seven sins. He emphasized the various runway walks and swag. The models struck poses every several feet as they modeled Harper’s bold designs.

Lust was my favorite sin. The men and women inched across the stage in white attire, while “Slow motion” by Trey Songz complimented this theme.
My favorite part was the dance number. The men and women danced around each other during the song “Earned it” by The Weekend. When the girls sensually exited the stage, the boys followed them. Overall it was an entertaining and creative experience.
By 10:00 p.m., the show was over and Clark spoke about her last fashion experience as a senior. Overall it was great show, and an event I will never forget.
