Everyone’s favorite ‘Starboy’ will officially be headlining the 2021 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The Weeknd, who has released some of the greatest hits over the years and has recently been named one of the most influential people of 2020 by Time Magazine, is set to perform on Feb. 7th at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
The Weeknd first took to Twitter with his announcement tweeting, “performing on the iconic stage. see you 02/07/21.” The star also made a statement about how he is “humbled and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage.”
Jay-Z, the founder of Roc Nation which is co-producing the show for the second year in a row, spoke about his excitement for The Weeknd’s performance. He stated, “The Weeknd has introduced a sound all his own. His soulful uniqueness has defined a new generation of greatness in music and artistry. This is an extraordinary moment in time and the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show is going to be an extraordinary experience with an extraordinary performer.”

Unfortunately nothing is set in stone about whether there can be a similar crowd to years past due to Covid-19. There have been talks that if need be the NFL would limit the amount of fans allowed, or even go on to have no fans in the stands.
Here’s hoping The Weeknd is able to perform a star-studded show with as many fans as possible in the crowd and at home watching!
