We Just “Can’t Get Enough” of Big Time Rush!
March 28, 2023
After a massively successful career in the early 2010s, Big Time Rush has been making their big-time comeback for the past two years, entrancing their fans with their enthusiasm and new music.
Bandmates Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson, and Carlos Penavega first hinted at their musical return through their online presence during the pandemic back in 2020. They made it official by playing two shows in December of 2021 and have since gone on to play nationwide during their ‘Forever Tour’ (which also included dates in South America) and at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball for the past two years.
Since their return, the band has produced six new songs and also re-recorded some of their greatest hits, including “Paralyzed” and “Worldwide” (Acoustic). Their latest song, “Can’t Get Enough,” sparked the announcement of their second tour since regrouping. Jax, who recently gained fame for her single “Victoria’s Secret,” and MAX, fellow Nickelodeon alum, will be opening for them at every show during the tour.
Tickets went on sale Friday, February 10th.
As part of their announcement, they posted a fun skit on social media showing that they need to be back performing for their fans as much as their fans need them to.
They recently performed “Can’t Get Enough” on the Today Show in NYC and, afterward, hosted a special fan event at Irving Plaza. Fans were either gifted tickets for coming to their Today Show performance or had the chance to attend by being a BTR Fan Club Member and email subscriber.
Additionally, the band has been very involved in creating content and engaging with their fan base. They recently visited various cities after they posted a fan-submission event where Rushers could enter for the chance to have BTR play in their town or at their university. This turned out to be wildly popular as they ended up playing in Columbus, OH, Inglewood, CA, and at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD. To enter, fans needed to explain what they can’t get enough of in their hometown and post it with the #BTRCantGetEnough and tag their city. Each set was an acoustic rendition of their songs and proved to be a very intimate experience for their fans.
So what can we expect from Big Time Rush in the future? The good news is that we’ll be seeing something new on all fronts: the band’s journey, their individual careers, and their personal lives.
In June of 2022, Kendall proposed to long-time girlfriend Mica von Turkovich, a public figure on Instagram known for fitness, lifestyle, and photography content. She can also be seen in various country music videos, such as “Tequila” by Dan + Shay. In addition to Big Time Rush, Kendall was a part of another band called Heffron Drive (2013-2019). He self-produces, writes music, and continues acting after his hit series ends, making special appearances on shows such as Nickelodeon’s “School of Rock.” He recently helped his former “Big Time Rush” co-star Stephan Kramer Glickman produce a cover of “How to Save a Life” by The Fray.
Carlos is the proud father of three children and a loving husband to Alexa PenaVega, a notable actress most recognizable for her lead role in the Spy Kids franchise. Together, they have a Youtube channel, star alongside one another in various Hallmark movies, co-write books and promote their faith through their social media. Currently, Carlos is voicing the part of Bobby in “The Loud House” and “The Casagrandes” on Nickelodeon.
James has been actively keeping up with this acting career, starring in movies such as “Stars Fell on Alabama”, “Wolf Hound” and “We Need to Talk”. He has been focused on his acting career for the most part but still finds time to record singles such as “Love U Sober,” “Delirious” and “Who Knows.”
Logan has spent his time focused on his solo music career. He has released many singles and has an average of 48,307 monthly listeners on Spotify. He remained in the Pop genre but has found his own sound outside of Big Time Rush.
As for the band… they’re here to stay and are thrilled to be back on the road and making new music together. In an interview with E! News, the bandmates discussed how they “have big dreams with music” and “would love to continue touring” for years to come.” They also teased bringing Big Time Rush back to the big or small screen. While agreeing that they wouldn’t want to reboot their hit television series, they joked about creating “Big Time Rush: The Musical.” Overall, they’re excited to be together. Their creativity and positivity bounce off of each other and shine bright in everything that they do.
