More than 100 minors were issued infractions Friday after the Hamden Police Department conducted a liquor compliance check at a Hamden bar.

On Jan. 25 members of the Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team, Patrol Division and Traffic Division conducted the check at The Clubhouse Café, 3816 Whitney Avenue.

The check came after complaints about underage drinking that were received on the Hamden Police 411 Tip Line.

A similar check occurred at the bar on April 20, 2018, where Hamden Police seized 42 fake ID’s. During this instance, minors told police officers that they had not been asked for identification by employees of the bar.

Following that compliance check, their liquor permit was suspended from April 16 – 19.

As of right now, the liquor license listed for “The Clubhouse Café” is not noted as suspended, according to the Connecticut State Department of Consumer Protection’s Liquor Permits and Suspensions list.

A Quinnipiac student who was present at the bar during the check received a ticket and told Q30 News that the infraction was listed as “simple trespassing” with a fine of $92.

According to a news release from Hamden Police Department, “The State Liquor Commission has been notified.”
