Quinnipiac University signed a three year contract with Propark, a new shuttle service provider and DATTCO shuttles are officially out.
The university now has 19 brand new ADA compliant shuttles with leather seating and free Wi-Fi. Ten of the shuttles are 43 feet long and nine of the shuttles are 24 feet long.
“They’re beautiful,” Shanon Grasso, Parking and Transportation Coordinator said. “The company seems really responsive to student requests.”
Students have complained in the past about long waits for DATTCO shuttles and minor accidents have occurred in previous years.
Grasso doesn’t foresee problems that have occurred with DATTCO shuttles to be an issue with the Propark shuttles.
The Propark shuttles also have updated safety feature which streams live video from three angles: the driver, the passengers and the outside of the shuttle.
Grasso also says students will be able to use the smartphone app Ride Systems to request rides and the nearest bus will divert and pick up the students.
A price has also been negotiated for student organizations that need bus rentals and those services can be accessed by contacting Grasso at (203) 582-5831 or [email protected].
