In the wake of the grand jury’s decision not to indict former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of teen Michael Brown, members of the Quinnipiac community held a peaceful protest on the steps of the Arnold Bernhard Library Monday afternoon.
Several Quinnipiac faculty members alongside students assembled around 1 p.m. with signs in support of Michael Brown and other alleged victims of police brutality. Chants of “hands up, don’t shoot” and “from Ferguson to NYC, stop police brutality” echoed throughout the quad throughout the peaceful protest.
