Student found dead in off-campus home

A Quinnipiac student was found dead in his off-campus home on Whitney Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, Hamden police said Thursday morning.
20-year-old Cristian Caamano was a fourth-year entrepreneurship student from Manhasset, New York.
The Hamden Police Department and Hamden Fire Department arrived at approximately 3:30 p.m. at the house after a report of an unresponsive student who was later confirmed to be Caamano. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was transported for an autopsy to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) in Farmington, Conn.
The cause and manner of death are still unknown. Based on initial investigations, the incident is confirmed to be isolated and no foul play was found. The investigation is being led by Detective Andrew Lipford and OCME will be assisting.
The university sent out an email on Thursday morning confirming the student’s death.
