The 6-foot-8 sophomore forward had a hot start to his Quinnipiac career. In his first game against Hartford in the Connecticut 6 last season, Sumbry scored 10 points and three rebounds in 17 minutes. Sumbry went on to play in all but one of the teams games last year including three starts. He finished his freshman campaign averaging 1.4 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. Sumbry’s sophomore season never got off the ground as a shoulder injury sidelined him for the entire season. As Q30 Sports reported last week, sophomore guard Kasim Chandler has also been granted a release making Sumbry the second player this year and the second player from that sophomore class to be given permission to transfer. Sumbry is also now the 14th player to transfer since the 2010-11 season.
