Cheyenne Orsi, a 6-foot-5 Middle Hitter from Bristol, Conn., will not be playing for the Quinnipiac women’s volleyball team this season, according to a Q30 source.
Her departure is a tough loss for Head Coach Kristopher Czaplinski and his team. Orsi added depth and experience to the front line. Without her, Allison Leigh is the only returning dominant middle-hitter back for the Bobcats this season.
Sporting a .307 hitting percentage last year, Orsi was third in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in that category; it was the highest hitting percentage on the team. Also, she was ninth in the conference in blocks with .94 per set her freshman year.
Although she will not be playing, Orsi is still enrolled at the university.
Last season the Bobcats finished with a 2-31 overall record including an 0-20 mark in MAAC play.
