Three years with the Jersey Hitmen and now three years with the Quinnipiac Bobcats, Tim Clifton has emerged an impact player for Rand Pecknold’s squad.
In his time with the Hitmen, Clifton put up stellar numbers. He averaged .589 goals per game and .735 assists per game, good for 1.32 points per game in his tenure with the team. These stats put Clifton among the elite in the EJHL.
His freshman year, Clifton immediately played in 40 games for the team. However, he only had a mere 10 points to show for it. In his sophomore campaign, again Clifton did not have a huge presence on the score sheet with only 17 points in 37 games.
Now a junior, Clifton has become more of the goal scorer he was back with his former team.
With 15 points in 14 games played, Clifton is on track to repeat his performance from his final season with the Hitmen. Clifton has 10 goals on the year, co-leading the team while playing in four fewer games than most.
What has made the difference for Clifton? The offseason work he put in this past year.
