Matt:
1. Quinnipiac Bobcats (19-1-4, 10-1-3 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 at Union W 5-0, 1/15 vs. Robert Morris W 3-2, 1/16 vs. Robert Morris W 2-0
The Bobcats swept Robert Morris and they set the record for their longest unbeaten streak at 17 games.
Next three: 1/20 vs. Boston University, 1/29 at Harvard, 1/30 at Dartmouth
Andrew:
1. Quinnipiac Bobcats (19-1-4, 10-1-3 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 at Union W 5-0, 1/15 vs. Robert Morris W 3-2, 1/16 vs. Robert Morris W 2-0
After relatively close games against Robert Morris, the Bobcats were able to maintain their school record 17 game point streak. Taylor Cianfarano has made her case for best player in the ECAC so far this season, with three points over the weekend.
Next three: 1/20 vs. Boston University, 1/29 at Harvard, 1/30 at Dartmouth
Matt:
2. Princeton Tigers (15-4-1, 9-4-1 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/2 vs. Yale W 5-1, 1/8 at Union W 5-0, 1/9 at Rensselaer W 3-2
Tigers remain at the two spot, as they had the weekend off.
Next three: 1/25 at UConn, 1/29 at Dartmouth, 1/30 at Harvard
Andrew:
2. Princeton Tigers (15-4-1, 9-4-1 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/2 vs. Yale W 5-1, 1/8 at Union W 5-0, 1/9 at Rensselaer W 3-2
With the weekend off, the Tigers maintains their lofty standing in the conference.
Next three: 1/25 at UConn, 1/29 at Dartmouth, 1/30 at Harvard
Matt:
3. Clarkson Golden Knights (19-3-2, 7-3-2 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 at Brown W 7-0, 1/15 vs. Dartmouth W 1-0, 1/16 vs. Harvard W 5-2
This was the toughest pick for me. I believe that if Clarkson has a good couple of weeks it will overtake Princeton for the two spot.
Next three: 1/22 at Cornell, 1/23 at Colgate, 1/28 at St. Lawrence
Andrew
3. Clarkson Golden Knights
Previous three: 1/9 at Brown W 7-0, 1/15 vs. Dartmouth W 1-0, 1/16 vs. Harvard W 5-2
The Golden Knights have almost caught Princeton in my rankings, especially after dominating Harvard 5-2. Cayley Mercer is an absolute phenom.
Next three: 1/22 at Cornell, 1/23 at Colgate, 1/28 at St. Lawrence
Matt:
4. St. Lawrence Saints (12-10-2, 6-5-1 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 at Yale L 5-2, 1/15 vs. Harvard W 2-0, 1/16 vs. Dartmouth T 2-2
St. Lawrence took a huge jump this week due to Harvard’s disastrous play. Although Colgate had an outstanding week, look out for St. Lawrence in the upcoming weeks.
Next three: 1/22 at Colgate, 1/23 at Cornell, 1/28 vs. Clarkson
Andrew:
4. Colgate Raiders (14-4-6, 6-2-4 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/12 vs. Cornell W 4-3, 1/15 vs. Brown W 6-2, 1/16 vs. Yale W 4-3
The Raiders finally jumped Harvard in my rankings, thanks in part to a 3-0-0 week. It also helps that the next team has looked awful.
Next three: 1/22 vs. St. Lawrence, 1/23 vs. Clarkson, 1/29 at Rensselaer
Matt:
5. Colgate Raiders (14-4-6, 6-2-4 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/12 vs. Cornell W 4-3, 1/15 vs. Brown W 6-2, 1/16 vs. Yale W 4-3
With a fantastic 3-0-0 week, The Raiders took the five-spot in my rankings as Harvard continues to fall.
Next three: 1/22 vs. St. Lawrence, 1/23 vs. Clarkson, 1/29 at Rensselaer
Andrew:
5. Harvard Crimson (10-6-1, 7-5-1 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 vs. Colgate W 6-2, 1/15 at St. Lawrence L 2-0, 1/16 at Clarkson L 5-2
The Crimson look awful. An 0-2-0 weekend, including an ugly 2-0 loss to St. Lawrence, is exactly what Harvard didn’t need right now as the rest of the ECAC begins to heat up. Now, St. Lawrence is knocking on the door. Emerance Maschmeyer seems to be the only player trying right now, and goalies can’t score goals.
Next three: 1/19 vs. Boston College, 1/23 vs. Dartmouth, 1/29 vs. Quinnipiac
Matt:
6. Harvard Crimson (10-6-1, 7-5-1 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 vs. Colgate W 6-2, 1/15 at St. Lawrence L 2-0, 1/16 at Clarkson L 5-2
Harvard looked like they didn’t want to be on the ice after suffering a brutal loss to St. Lawrence. Without goalie Emerance Maschmeyer, the 2-0 loss to St. Lawrence would’ve been much worse.
Next three: 1/19 vs. Boston College, 1/23 vs. Dartmouth, 1/29 vs. Quinnipiac
Andrew:
6. St Lawrence Saints (12-10-2, 6-5-1 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 at Yale L 5-2, 1/15 vs. Harvard W 2-0, 1/16 vs. Dartmouth T 2-2
A win against Harvard and a tie against an improving Dartmouth has pushed St. Lawrence to the brink of a top 5 ECAC ranking. Look out, Harvard.
Next three: 1/22 at Colgate, 1/23 at Cornell, 1/28 vs. Clarkson
Matt:
7. Cornell Big Red (8-8-3, 4-5-3 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/12 at Colgate L 4-3, 1/15 vs. Yale W 6-4, 1/16 vs. Brown T 2-2
Nothing impressive or disastrous from the Cornell squad. The Big Red need to improve on all perimeters of the ice.
Next three: 1/22 vs. Clarkson, 1/23 vs. St. Lawrence, 1/29 at Union
Andrew:
7. Cornell Big Red (8-8-3, 4-5-3 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/12 at Colgate L 4-3, 1/15 vs. Yale W 6-4, 1/16 vs. Brown T 2-2
A close game against a good Colgate squad and a win against Brown on Friday helped the Big Red look much better, but tying Brown on Saturday did not. Yikes.
Next three: 1/22 vs. Clarkson, 1/23 vs. St. Lawrence, 1/29 at Union
Matt:
8. Rensselaer Engineers (7-11-4, 5-5-2 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 vs. Princeton L 3-2, 1/15 vs. Union W 2-0, 1/16 at Union W 3-0
RPI had a good weekend against bad teams, but they showed some signs of a breakthrough.
Next three: 1/22 at Brown, 1/23 at Yale, 1/29 vs. Colgate
Andrew:
8. Dartmouth Big Green (4-12-3, 4-6-3 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 vs. Cornell L 5-3, 1/15 at Clarkson L 1-0, 1/16 at St. Lawrence T 2-2
After it seemed the Big Green were about to drop off the planet during a long losing streak, Dartmouth decides to tie a rising St. Lawrence and push Clarkson to a close 1-0 game. However, that game was still a loss, and the Big Green need a big win soon.
Next three: 1/23 at Harvard, 1/29 vs. Princeton, 1/30 vs. Quinnipiac
Matt:
9. Dartmouth Big Green (4-12-3, 4-6-3 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 vs. Cornell L 5-3, 1/15 at Clarkson L 1-0, 1/16 at St. Lawrence T 2-2
The Big Green rebounded a little bit this week. However, they stay at the same spot as last weeks power rankings.
Next three: 1/23 at Harvard, 1/29 vs. Princeton, 1/30 vs. Quinnipiac
Andrew:
9. Rensselaer Engineers (7-11-4, 5-5-2 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 vs. Princeton L 3-2, 1/15 vs. Union W 2-0, 1/16 at Union W 3-0
Sweeping a weekend against Union helps with the whole “Beat the bad teams you’re supposed to beat” drama.
Next three: 1/22 at Brown, 1/23 at Yale, 1/29 vs. Colgate
Matt:
10. Yale Bulldogs (5-13-1, 4-7-1 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 vs. St. Lawrence W 5-2, 1/15 at Cornell L 6-4, 1/16 at Colgate L 4-3
The Bulldogs are in my 10-spot only because the two teams below them haven’t shown any signs of brightness.
Next three: 1/22 vs. Union, 1/23 vs. Rensselaer, 1/29 vs. Brown
Andrew:
10. Yale Bulldogs (5-13-1, 4-7-1 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 vs. St. Lawrence W 5-2, 1/15 at Cornell L 6-4, 1/16 at Colgate L 4-3
A winless weekend sees the Bulldogs looking up at a lot more teams once again.
Next three: 1/22 vs. Union, 1/23 vs. Rensselaer, 1/29 vs. Brown
Matt:
11. Brown Bears (3-14-1, 1-10-1 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 vs. Clarkson L 7-0, 1/14 at Colgate L 6-2, 1/15 at Cornell T 2-2
They always say if you’re not first, you’re last. Not in this case as Brown sits above a winless Union team.
Next three: 1/19 at Merrimack, 1/22 vs. Rensselaer, 1/23 vs. Union
Andrew:
11. Brown Bears (3-14-1, 1-10-1 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/9 vs. Clarkson L 7-0, 1/14 at Colgate L 6-2, 1/15 at Cornell T 2-2
Another point, as a tie against Cornell lessens the pain of being the second worst team in the ECAC. At least they’re not Union? I guess?
Next three: 1/19 at Merrimack, 1/22 vs. Rensselaer, 1/23 vs. Union
Matt:
12. Union Dutchwomen (0-19-5, 0-10-2 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/12 vs. Syracuse L 4-0, 1/15 at Rensselaer L 2-0, 1/16 vs. Rensselaer L 3-0
Will Union ever win?
Next three: 1/22 at Yale, 1/23 at Brown, 1/29 vs. Cornell
Andrew:
12. Union Dutchwomen (0-19-5, 0-10-2 ECAC)
Previous three: 1/12 vs. Syracuse L 4-0, 1/15 at Rensselaer L 2-0, 1/16 vs. Rensselaer L 3-0
Sigh. Another winless weekend? Someone send this team a Kevin Hart DVD. They need some cheer, instead of being on the end of another joke.
Next three: 1/22 at Yale, 1/23 at Brown, 1/29 vs. Cornell
