In December 2012, Quinnipiac University announced that the majority of the school’s athletic programs would transition to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The only sports that would not be making the switch are both men’s and women’s ice hockey, women’s rugby, and acrobatics and tumbling.
That transition ended Quinnipiac’s 15 year run as a member of the Northeast Conference.
On Saturday Nov. 9, the Quinnipiac Bobcats men’s basketball squad will play its first matchup as a member of the MAAC. The team will take on the University of Hartford in the Connecticut 6 Classic.
The Bobcats will get their first taste of conference play as they will face the Stags of Fairfield University on Friday Dec. 6. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
