The Monmouth Hawks visited the Quinnipiac Bobcats for a rematch of the 2014 MAAC Championship game. That game ended with a Quinnipiac victory in a shootout. Much like the championship game, neither team was able to score a goal as the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
The game was a battle between two strong goaltenders in Quinnipiac’s Borja Angoitia and Monmoth’s Eric Klenofsky. The two did not disappoint, each completing shutouts and combining for five saves. Klenofsky and the Hawks have allowed just five goals in their 11 games this season. Klenofsky also leads the MAAC with eight shutouts.
Quinnipiac is now 3-0-2 in conference play, while Monmouth is 2-0-3. The Bobcats will next take on Manhattan at home on Wednesday.
Q30 Sports’ Colin Babcock has more on the game.
