The No. 5 Quinnipiac University women’s ice hockey team (22-5-3, 13-3-2 ECAC) defeated the Colgate Raiders (7-22-1, 4-13-1 ECAC) tonight by a score of 2-0. Playing in their last regular season home game this season, the Bobcats celebrated senior night, honoring the team’s four seniors.
After outshooting the Raiders 23 to 10 in the first period, the Bobcats first goal came early in the second period by senior Morgan Fritz-Ward. The second goal came off a pass from junior Lindsey West to Nicole Connery who scored in the top left corner of the net.
Chelsea Laden stopped all 24 shots she faced, earning her 13th shutout of the season and 21st of her career. She also broke the team’s record for most win’s in a single season by a goaltender with her 22nd win tonight.
The team is first in the ECAC and will face St. Lawrence and Clarkson next weekend.
