The Quinnipiac men’s lacrosse team defeated the Hartford Hawks Wednesday afternoon, 14-9, in an NCAA Tournament preliminary round game at the QU Lacrosse Complex.
The hosts jumped out to a leads of 4-1 and 9-3, the latter coming in the third quarter. Freshman star Foster Cuomo lead all scorers with four goals.
With the win, Quinnipiac improves to 12-3 overall. On Sunday, it travels to College Park, Md. to face the overall No. 1 seeded Maryland Terrapins in the Sweet 16. Game time is set for 12:30 p.m. and will be nationally televised on ESPNU.
