A 25-year-old Domino’s deliveryman was robbed at gunpoint as he was delivering pizza to a student at the York Hill Campus around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning, Dec. 9.
According to a manager from the Domino’s on Whitney Ave., the driver was heading down the hill from the York Hill Campus when he was saw an African-American female screaming for help near a van with its emergency lights on. The Domino’s driver stopped to see what was going on when an African-American male suddenly attacked him at gunpoint.
The Hamden Police Department states in a press release the driver was dragged out of his car and forced to his knees. The deliveryman was struck three times in the head with a gun before getting his money, cell phone, and car keys stolen. However, the delivery car was not stolen.
Officer Stephen Phipps conducted the investigation. The Hamden Police Detective Division is continuing the investigation, according to the press release.
