Grammy nominee and VMA winner Capital Cities will headline the 2014 Wake the Giant Spring Concert. It was announced Saturday afternoon during the men’s basketball game vs. Rider.
Capital Cities, composed of Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian, is an indie electric duo from Los Angeles. Their debut single, “Safe and Sound,” hit number one on the U.S. Alternative Songs chart and climbed to number eight on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
“They’re very in right now,” Student Programming Board MainStage chair Kristin Foley said. “They’re popular among students and they’re fun. They’re not just pop, but they’re a whole mix of different things.”
The concert will be on Friday, May 2 at the TD Bank Sports Center, as part of The Campus Consciousness Tour presented by Reverb. A headliner has yet to be determined.
