Quinnipiac freshman hospitalized after falling out of tree

By Morey Hershgordon

A Quinnipiac University freshman fell out of a tree in Sleeping Giant State Park around 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The victim is a male.

Hamden Police, Quinnipiac Public Safety, and the Hamden Fire Department responded to the scene. The victim left on a stretcher in an ambulance. Hamden Police refused to comment on the situation at the scene.

Sleeping Giant State Park is located directly across the street from Quinnipiac University’s Mount Carmel campus entrance.

This isn’t the first time that an accident has occurred at the state park. In 2012, 18-year-old Tobias Engel died after falling over 200 ft off of the mountain.
