The yearly NCAA men’s basketball tournament known as March Madness is underway. People usually gamble on each game by filling out money brackets in pools.
But this year, it seems that many people are having a hard time winning.
“I had a bracket pool with some of my friends back home,” professor Jamie Miller said. “I’m not gonna win it.”
Upsets are usually part of what makes the tournament fun, but not with money on the line. Billionaire Warren Buffet said that whoever filled out a perfect bracket this year would receive a billion dollars from his own pocket. After the second round, there were no more perfect brackets. Buffet insists he’ll make the challenge easier next year.
While a perfect bracket seems out of the question, professor Jamie Miller thinks with a bit of luck it’s possible.
“I do think it’s possible to pick a perfect bracket,” Miller said. “It’s hard, but it’s possible.”
