Quinnipiac senior Aaron King is the first male member on Dance Fusion for the 2014-2015 year. He held a social with his fraternity and Dance Fusion last year when the team noticed he was able to dance. The girls kept asking King to join.
“After a while I was like its senior year I might as well go for it,” King said.
The encouragement from veteran dancers pushed King to try out. “We wanted to see what we could do to take it to the next level and something we’ve never done and adding a boy is just that,” said Dance Fusion captain Meghan Lockwood.
Other members on the team agree that King meshes right into the group. “Our team is pretty open to all types of people and personalities, so he is just fitting into the rest of us,” said senior Angelica Cuzzola.
“I think being the first male on the team will change the dynamic of the team because more so they might center me because I am the only male,” King said. He wants to continue to get acclimated to the team and making sure he masters all of the dance moves. His hard work will help the team prepare for upcoming Bobcat Madness.
“For me bringing to the table, I think I have very cool ideas and quirky things I can do in the middle of the dances so we’ll see how that works out. But I think it will be a very interesting and fun year so I’m excited,” King said.
