Restaurant Week is back in Hamden from Monday, Sept. 15 through Sunday, Sept. 21. It’s a time where several restaurants around the town provide special deals on many meals that people from all over Connecticut love to eat.
This year, sixteen restaurants participated in the weeklong event. Some restaurants, including Mickey’s Restaurant, Eli’s on Whitney and Aunt Chilada’s have done this for several years while others, especially B and D Deli Works participated in the event for the first time.
Owners and general mangers of these eateries spent a lot of time organizing what they were going to offer for their usual and new customers. The owner of Mickey’s, Wendy Josephs knew her restaurant’s plan.
“We are offering lots and lots of choices, which includes three courses of an appetizer, the choice of a soup or salad and also an entrée” said Josephs.
In order to get the attention of more customers, several restaurants are moving away from their usual menu prices and instead are offering cheaper deals for all customers.
“We are going to have a lunch combo that we are going to be serving for the $12 lunch price” said Amy Brejwo, owner of B and D Deli Works.
And Lisa Votto is bringing a different type of deal to Eli’s.
“I think we are going to do a drink special for those who order from our dinner menu” said Votto.
In the end, the main goal that every restaurant has at the end of the week is to gain as many new customers as they can since they are offering so much food to show what the city of Hamden is all about.
