During the past two weeks, Quinnipiac University has cancelled classes multiple times due to the inclement weather. Today, despite early snowfall and icy paths, the university decided to keep school open.
Outraged students took to social media to express their displeasures all morning, questioning if the school really cared about their safety. Some tweets said that students almost died while riding the shuttles, and commuters were unable to drive to campus for their classes on time.
“I think it’s a pain in the neck for commuters driving in this weather,” freshman Dylan Fearon said. “Even people taking shuttles from York Hill. Who knows what could happen.”
While the weather has been bad, Associate Vice President of Public Relations John Morgan told News Team 30 that the school has no plans to shut down the rest of the day.
“I understand where they’re coming from because they had to cancel classes multiple times the past few weeks,” freshman Morey Hershgordon said. “They’re trying not to cancel too much and to get through this as smoothly as possible.”
