Quinnipiac falls to NJIT in opening round of CIT

The Quinnipiac men’s basketball team’s season came to a close Monday in Newark, NJ. NJIT defeated Quinnipiac 92-81 in the first round of the 2019 CollegeInsider.com Tournament. Cam Young’s 29 points were not enough, as the Highlanders led 12-4 early on and never looked back. NJIT’s Zach Cooks had a career-high 34 points on the night.

Quinnipiac finished its season above .500 (16-15 record) since 2013-14. The Bobcats lost in the 2019 MAAC Tournament quarterfinal round to the Monmouth Hawks last weekend.
