The Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey team looked to complete a weekend sweep of the Maine Black Bears up at High Point Solutions Arena. Quinnipiac’s aggressive offense was dominant throughout the game, recording a total of 43 shots against Maine’s defense. However, the Bobcats struggled to get the puck past Maine goaltender Meghann Treacy.
The game remained scoreless until five minutes into the third period. Quinnipiac freshman T.T. Cianfarano scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season to get the Bobcats on the board. This goal was also Cianfarano’s third game-winning goal of the season.
Nicole Connery iced the game in the last minute of play, scoring on the open net to give the Bobcats the 2-0 victory.
Goaltender Chelsea Laden also recorded her fourth straight shutout in the winning effort. She has yet to give up a single goal this season.
