The following information was discussed at the weekly student government association general board meeting on December 8th, 2016.
Semester Re-Cap – What’s been done?
- Be a Better Bobcat campaign, 2nd video will be coming out on Friday
- Changes to the York Hill cafeteria options – still working on changing times
- Student lounge proposal is complete and has been sent to school officials
- Proposal to have separate account numbers for all student organizations has been completed and sent to school officials
- Mark Thompson agreed to help put the tailgate initiative into action
- Public Safety and other school officials have recognized the parking issues and agreed to help figure out how to fix the problem
- Initiative to have designated smoking areas on campus has been completed and submitted
Looking Forward – What’s to come?
- Ideas to put speed trackers/monitors on Bobcat way to ensure safety of pedestrians
- That’s Not Okay campaign has been moved and will begin at the start of next semester
- ‘Did You Know’ campaign – senior class to make video to appeal to freshman and incoming students on what they should know about QU
- Possible changes to the gym on York Hill as well as utilizing extra space for study rooms and/or game rooms and lounges
