Junior Kathryn Pereira, sophomore Matt Wynn, and sophomore Ian Zeitlin will be filling vacant positions on the Student Government Association as class representatives in the spring semester.
With SGA representatives studying abroad or stepping down next semester, the positions became available. Usually the open position would go to the runners up from the last election. But if there’s not anyone left on the list, the process is a little different.
Potential candidates still have to get signatures and fill out paperwork, but the representatives are internally elected by SGA.
Each candidate gave a two minute speech and answered questions from members of SGA before an executive session was called. An executive session is private and allows members of SGA to speak freely about the candidates before their vote.
