Bobcat Breakdown: Quinnipiac men’s basketball in trouble, hockey all-star lineups, and best athlete on campus

In the 23rd episode of Bobcat Breakdown, Ryan Blake makes his on-air debut at Q30, alongside two veterans of the show Joey O’Donoghue and Matt Mugno for their final time on Bobcat Breakdown.

With the recent news of former men’s basketball head coach Baker Dunleavy resigning, Mugno and O’Donoghue discuss the current state of the team heading into the off-season and how newly appointed head coach Tom Pecora can move the program forward with head coaching experience at Fordham and Hofstra. With the winter season finally wrapping up, the guys build their all-star lineups taking players from both the men’s and women’s hockey teams. To wrap up the first block of the show, the guys talk about the impact of the baseball team scoring 46 runs in their three-game series against Iona over the weekend.

Coming out of the break, the guys go out to the quad to ask students who their favorite athlete was to watch on campus this year, then the guys give their thoughts as well. Since Mugno and O’Donoghue are both seniors, we asked them who their favorite athlete was to watch over their four years on campus.

To wrap up the show, we throw it all the way to Feb. 18th of this year for the QBSN Call of the Week to the only hockey broadcast Mugno and O’Donoghue did together which was a prediction that came true just a couple of weeks ago. Grab the tissues for the last part of the show as Blake, Mugno, and O’Donoghue give their Final Roars of 2023, while the seniors reflect on their four years at Quinnipiac.
