Recently engaged Zayn Malik, 22, has announced his departure from the international boyband One Direction. Simon Cowell put One Direction together during the seventh season of the British singing competition, The X Factor. His departure is allegedly due to a recent cheating scandal that has surfaced the Internet. These photos (below) are said to be Malik and a mistress that is not his fiancé, Perrie Edwards.
To combat these rumors, Malik posted a tweet declaring his love for Edwards on March 18, 2015.

Zayn issued a statement on the One Direction official Facebook page.
“My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I’d like to apologise to the fans if I’ve let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.”

He wants to be a “normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight?” Well, let me tell you Zayn Malik, that’s not going to happen. Millions of fans still want to meet you, that’s not going to change. If anything, you’ve sent the world into a frenzy.
As a former fan of the band, I can say with confidence the other four members will not be able to sustain One Direction. Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson do not have the vocal ability and stage presence to finish out their current tour titled, On The Road Again.
As a boyband that completely avoids choreography or even any type of organization beyond having a set-list for their shows, Malik’s departure has sealed One Direction’s fate.
One Direction is heading in no direction.
